Charles Banks, the investment manager and sports and real-estate mogul Stan Kroenke acquired the most popular cult Cabernet Screaming Eagle from Jean Phillips, the former owner and winery founder. Banks plans to improve the cult Cabernet property but also maintain the high quality standards set by Phillips and has raised the price for Screaming Eagles to $500 a bottle, the highest priced California wine on release.
