Bill Hatcher, one of states best Pinot Noir producers says that it would have been impossible to make a good negociant style wine only a couple of years ago in Oregon. But today, a wave of impressive new wineries, improvements at established estates and a series of fine vintages have combined to fill the market with the best selection of Oregon Pinot Noirs. A key factor that has kept prices spiraling even higher is a surplus of good wine, the product of an explosion in the states Pinot Noir plantings.
