Fancl, a leading Japanese health food company, has formed a joint venture with Doma KK to produce germinated brown rice, which is easier to absorb and digest than regular brown rice. Thought to help prevent Alzheimer's disease, it has an increased gamma-amino-butyric acid (GABA) content, as well as the nutrients found in brown rice. This product, named Fancl Hatsuga Gemmai, is available in department stores, and through mail order.
