California vintner pleads guilty to fraud

Article Abstract:

Indelicato and two of his officials at Delicato Vineyards have pled guilty to altering records to show wine as being made from 100% Zinfandel grapes, when this was not the case. The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms regulations state that wine must contain at least 75% of the varietal it claims.

Blazing the wine trail in California's heartland

Article Abstract:

This Yolo County winery in the Central Valley is owned by Karl and John Giguiere, who inherited a wheat farm from their parents and turned the land over to vineyards in 1973. The vintners expect to produce 325,000 cases in 1992. They make several varieties.

Mondavi's first bubbly

Article Abstract:

Mondavi Winery has introduced 1,500 cases of 1985 Napa Valley Brut Chardonnay Reserve and 1985 Brut Reserve. Both wines sell for $35 a bottle and can be purchased only at the Oakville, CA, winery.
