American auction market boosted by New York sales in 1994

Article Abstract:

Buyers purchased about $14 million in top wines at US auctions in 1994, which is an increase of almost 100% from 1993. British auctions still sell far more wine than US auctions, however. Several auctions and wines purchased in 1994 are discussed.
