Article Abstract:
The poor weather during the growing season in 2003 resulted in uneven ripening of grapes, thus producing wines that are acidic and austere-tasting, characterized by green, herbal flavors and of inadequate complexity and concentration. This has led to a 2003 vintage of equally expensive wines, although of poor quality when compared to the previous 2002 vintage.

Article Abstract:
Helen Turley produced her 10th vintage at her Sonoma Coast vineyard in 2006, and her wine is one of the benchmarks for excellence in California. Marcassin Pinot Noirs are rich and intense, vivid and complex, yet delicate and perfumed, with great aging potential, and are typically released two or three years after those of other Pinot Noir producers.
