New Zealand Pinot Noir has become very popular, with the finest wines coming from the Central Otago, Marlborough and Martinborough regions. Profiles of three vintners who produced excellent wines in 2005, namely Amisfield from Central Otago, Craggy Range from Martinborough, and Nobilo from Marlborough, are presented.

The wine industry is still looking in 2001 for the perfect stopper that will protect the wine while it ages without tainting. Cork has been used for centuries, but has problems and more synthetic alternatives are being used.
