The state of New York legalized wine auction in 1994 after which there is a dramatic change in the wines offered, the prices fetched, the auction ambience and the people bidding and this revolution presents a great opportunity to both the buyers and sellers. An important shift in the makeup of wine auctions has resulted in unprecedented supplies of quality wines from all over the world with enormous demand for fine and rare bottling, resulting in the division of the marketplace into two entities.
