Bad weather may not have harmed the 1996 California Cabernet vintage, but only time will tell. Several extremely good wines were tasted. Several wines are rated on a scale of one to 100, with tasting notes provided. A Delle Valle from Napa Valley and several others were rated 95-100.

Rain or shine, Napa is not Bordeaux

Napa Valley Cabernets differ from Bordeauxs even if they are made from the same combination of grape varieties and are processed in the same way. However, differences in climate, topography and wine making practices make one wine taste better than the other.
