Swapping goods amongst fashion and beauty stylists has replaced traditional payment methods. Daniel Galvin, for instance, gives tennis lessons in exchange for hair colouring, Kaarin Von offers drinks in her pub for bags, and Eliza Jimenez, the dress-making sculptor, trades her dresses for massages and believes it is a way of strengthening friendships.

A number of costume design difficulties arose out of contextualizing the 1960s hit 'The Avengers' into the fashion mood that could come out nicely in the 1990s. While much of the costume design used '60s fashion as a basis, many were given '90s touches in terms of accessories and accents.
