Article Abstract:

Lars Nilsson is the new designer at United States fashion house Bill Blass. The Swedish designer first came to New York to work for Ralph Lauren, having worked in Paris. He was inspired into the world of fashion design by the costumes worn by pop group Abba in the 1970s.

A review of the spring 2001 New York fashion week is presented. While most of the shows were lacking in innovation, two shows from Marc Jacobs and Helmut Lang were noteworthy. Both presented collections reminiscent of the late Jackie Onassis (formerly Kennedy).
