Parents of children with allergies should watch what their kids eat. Food labels must be checked for ingredients that may contain an allergen. It is best to be cautious about unwrapped food from delis, bakeries and bulk-food bins, where factory accidents or cross-mixing can put in allergens in prepared food.

Research indicates that babies taught signs for objects showed faster development than those not taught signs or babies that were taught verbal labels for objects. The babies taught sign tended to talk earlier and use more words than the other babies.
