Pacifiers must be safe. Buy them rigid but too large to go into an infant's mouth. If they are attached with a string, it must never be more than six inches long to avoid strangulation. They must be dishwasher safe and the best ones are shaped like a thumb. Never use bottle nipples as pacifiers.
