Article Abstract:
The hypothesis that maladaptive parenting behavior is associated with the structural and affective aspects of stories narrated by parents was proven by examining the responses of mothers to the Thematic Apperception Test. It was observed that certain parental behavior during storytelling, such as their use of extraneous statements and reference to their own task-specific inadequacies, are related to the mothers' failure in remaining firm when faced with child protest.
