There are times that they want to be dressed like ballerinas while other times they want to go to school in their pajamas. The importance of doing nothing

Article Abstract:

Parents may be concerned when their children seem to be doing nothing. However, these moments give children the opportunities to recharge themselves. Structured activities such as homework and chores, running errands and organized sports have reduced the leisure time of children.

Rewards for accomplishments or good behavior rob a child of the pure enjoyment of attaining a goal. Rewards can also cause a child to focus on activities that would not necessarily be a first choice. Children can also come to expect rewards for every accomplishment.
