The potential impact of imposing best management practices for nutrient management on the US broiler industry
Article Abstract:
Research is conducted on implementation costs for waste disposal plans for the poultry industry that reduce the potential for soil contamination in land applications. Findings conclude that for cost increases of 8%, 40% and 80%, wholesale prices return to previous levels over time, and production levels stabilize at levels slightly lower than those prior to implementation.
