Article Abstract:

The environmental organization Greenpeace is campaigning for the phaseout of the use of chlorine and other dangerous toxins. To address the danger posed by chlorine, the US and Canadian International Joint Commission on the Great Lakes has recommended in 1992 to stop the use of chlorine-based compounds and instead use alternative chemicals.
