Article Abstract:
The ancient forests of British Columbia are almost eradicated because of Doman Industries' continuous logging operations in the area. The logging company has been cutting down trees for commercial purposes for almost 150 years, and thus, destroying more than two-thirds of the temperate rainforest. Despite pressure from the government and environmental organizations Doman Industries continues to violate forestry regulations.

Descriptions are presented on the fleet of ships operated by Greenpeace, along with their histories. Included are the Rainbow Warrior II, which replaced its destroyed namesake and is most often used for protesting nuclear tests; and the Arctic Sunrise, which is used for demonstrations against whaling and oil drilling.

Article Abstract:
The use of renewable energy in cities and towns across the U.S. is discussed as an environmentally and economically friendly alternative to oil, coal and gas. The U.S. has failed to create or maintain the energy policies, currently implemented by Denmark and Japan, necessary in creating markets for renewable energy.
