Article Abstract:
Modeling methodology, data integration and the resulting water flow models that focus on the quaternary deposits and the upper 150 m of the bedrock is discussed. It is shown how the Geographical Information System-based modeling can be used to limit the number of surface flow paths that are needed to be characterized for safety assessment.

Article Abstract:
An intermediate approach based on a high-resolution geographical information system data-grid was developed for the coastal ecosystem in the Laxemar area grounded on many different site investigations. It was seen that in inner areas Benthic processes had a similar or larger influence on carbon fluxes as advective processes.

Article Abstract:
The results from three separate ecosystem models describing fluxes of organic matter in the terrestrial, limnic and marine ecosystems within the Simpevarp area were compared and combined into a landscape model. It was in terrestrial catchments that the largest incorporation of carbon into living tissue occurred.
