A particular case and a general pattern: hyperaggressive behaviour by one species may mediate avifaunal decreases in fragmented Australian forests

Article Abstract:

The noisy miner, a significantly aggressive bird species, tends to reduce bird diversity in eucalypt forests by occupying territory from 65 to over 325 feet from the forest edge. Despite other smaller bird species being 20 to 25 times more abundant, noisy miners quickly exclude almost all potential competitors.
