Vapor intrusion (VI), the migration of chemical vapors from contaminated groundwater and soil into buildings, can affect indoor air quality and is an emerging concern to commercial and industrial waste sites. The legal, public relations and technical issues, history and recent developments surrounding VI investigations are discussed.
