The product parenting process

Article Abstract:

Manufacturers should monitor product performance in the field to identify or correct variations by using a process of product parenting. This process ensures that a currently-manufactured products meet customer requirements and specifications. Product parenting involves a number of steps including ordering a product using regular customer procedures, inspecting the product and verifying product performance. Reporting on findings of product parenting should be done in the spirit of cooperation and group participation.
