Article Abstract:
Effective evaluation of Advanced Manufacturing Technology (AMT) begins with identification of market forces and critical success factors. Identification of competitive and opportunity gap is also needed in justifying AMT. Lastly, effective assessment of AMT benefits is achieved through evaluation of its contribution to the closing of competitive and opportunity gap. One of the benefits of ATM as compared to traditional models is that it introduces new competitive options to companies as well as spur the introduction of new products at a low cost in lesser time.

Article Abstract:
The advancement of the process in semiautomated production processes must be controlled by the decision-maker in discrete points. However, control must be carried out as rarely as possible andonly when a pregiven probability of achieving production output no less than that required is ensured. The next control point is determined through formulaswhich present the speed of the production process at each moment as an esponential distribution function of a stationary process with a certain autocorrelation function.

Article Abstract:
The applicability of two input-control strategies to flexible manufacturing systems was evaluated. The control strategies, namely cyclic control and constant proportion, were analyzed using a multi-item production inventory model that allows more than one delivery per production run. The results indicate that the constant-proportion control approach offers higher annual savings than the cyclic-control strategy.
