Decision tree helps categorize quality costs

Article Abstract:

Decisions trees can help quantify the costs and savings arising from quality controls, aiding in quality decision making. Four basic steps are involved in quality costs, namely, prevention, appraisal, international nonconformances and external nonconformances. On the proposed decision tree, each element of quality control can be identified as either a normal cost of production, or a waste of money arising from poor structuring of non-compliance with policies.
