Power purchase agreement signed

Article Abstract:

Tractebel Energy Marketing Inc has entered into a 20-year power purchase agreement with Columbus, OH-based American Electric Power (AEP) Co. Under the agreement, Tractebel will acquire all of the output from AEP's planned 900-MW cogeneration facility located at the Dow Chemical Co complex in Plaquemine, LA. The facility, which will be fueled by natural gas from AEP's Louisiana Interstate Gas Pipeline, is expected to start its operation in early 2003.

Duo to spur organic displays

Article Abstract:

PPG Industries Inc of Pittsburgh, PA, and Universal Display Corp (UDC) of Ewing, NY, have formed a partnership to speed up the commercialization of organic light-emitting diode (OLED) flat panel display technology. Under the terms of the deal, PPG is tasked to assist UDC in developing and commercializing the firm's OLED material system. PPG will also become UDC's exclusive supplier of its proprietary OLED chemical.

Online worksystem speeds product development

Article Abstract:

Sopheon Corp, an Arvad, CO-based company, has entered into an agreement with San Francisco, CA-based iVenturi to establish a global strategic alliance. Under the the alliance, the two companies will develop iVenturi's Internet-based worksystem, designed to accelerate the development of new products. The alliance's first goal is to manufacture the first complete online product development platform.
