Article Abstract:
A moisture measuring microwave scanning device has been developed as a by-product of trying to discover a safe option of seeing inside suspect parcels without the need to open them. The microwave scanning device can safely be used to inspect products for both industrial and commercial reasons with a further option being to scan people internally without the need for X-ray machines. The system works by detecting moisture with low level microwaves, making it a cost effective system.

Article Abstract:
A novel sensing system is developed that uses low power microwaves from a potentially low cost source to determine proportion of gas, water and oil inside a pipeline. Accuracy in detecting small percentages of oil or water in a gas pipeline, is as high as 99%, compared with 50% using other technologies, makes it suitable for the process industries and possibly, also food industries and the potential low cost components and lower power levels make it suitable for other uses.

Article Abstract:
Some state of the art engineering modelling software with regards to its designed are investigated. Designers are using software to tackle some of the quite difficult challenges caused by moving to more fuel efficient designs.
