Article Abstract:

Under the influence of applied magnetic fields, rods of Magnetic Shape Memory (MSM) can be made to change length by up to six percent, an effect that is fifty times greater than the material with the greatest response to magnetic field, Terfenol D. Fatigue life is estimated to be greater than 500 millions cycles and operating temperatures are in the range of minus forty degrees centigrade to sixty degrees centigrade.

Birdie FTR Fault Tracker is a low cost, hand held tool which detects faults in any electrical system by only recording 'events' and their logical relationship to their events. The specialty of Birdie is that its units can monitor up to 16 inputs at any voltage from 12V DC to 240V DC or 415 V AC three phase in star and occurrences can be studied by running or by exporting to a PC as an Excel spreadsheet.

The palm sized NMR scanner requires no super conducting magnets, capable of performing quality control in rubber and other organic materials. The specialty of NMR scanner is it has the potential for medical diagnostics in 2D as well as other medical applications. NMR scanner can be used for assessing skin disease and monitoring healing processes.
