Milwaukee began its Water Pollution Abatement Program in 1997. The $ 2.3 billion project involved the expansion of the sewerage system and treatment plants and the construction of facilities to control sewage overflow into area rivers and Lake Michigan. A thorough review would cost only from three to eight percent of the contract price and will guard a major expenditure in litigation. A careful review should include payment capability of the client, scope of work, time period of performance, insurance, indemnification, construction methods, guarantees of services and projects disputes, international services, and government contracts.

Howard Needles Tammen and Bergendoff phased out its 78-year old partnership on Jan. 1, 1993, incorporating itself into the HNTB Corp. The decision to change the partnership into a corporation came after the partners saw the benefits that could be gained from incorporation.
