Article Abstract:

The efficiency of fluid based processes can be increased by encouraging formation of vortices making it possible to harness energy from slow moving flows. Vortex technology can be used to heat and cool without the use of any moving part and this technology can also be used to obtain drinking water from desert air or improve vacuum cleaning devices.

Harald Schartau, minister for economic affairs and labour in the state of North-Rhine Westphalia discusses about his expectations of an upturn and the benefits of recycling. According to him engineers should aim to reduce the need to recycle and possible difficulties in recycling when they design a product.

Thin bronze strips make light barriers

Article Abstract:

Thin bronze strips reduce solar glare and simplifying ventilation grilles and lighting designs. When used as sun visors in cars they stop glares and allow the driver to see through them and offer little resistance to air flow.
