Article Abstract:

The intelligent home, called Cloud 8, being built by architect Tom Perry uses 14 Km of cabling, 130 switches and more than 500 meters of two wire cabling. The house has underfloor heating, automatic lighting and shadow controls and every possible gadget available in the market. Perry says that the building would be used as a demonstrable test site to promote his building designs business.

Winter wonderland

The Winter Garden at Sheffield is 21-meter high structure that houses 150 species of plants was built as part of the Remaking the Heart of the City project. The building's design, climate control and engineering aspects are discussed.

An examination of the novel lighting method at St. George's Cathedral, London, is presented. The new lighting is intended to engender a sense of drama inside the place of worship, which can make the devotees more buoyant.
