Mahle, a German based fastener supplier has helped manufacturer of car pistons and filters by cutting the costs and improve product quality by getting involved much earlier at the R and D stage. The findings suggested that self-tapping screw which is only around a third more expensive than a conventional screw ultimately reduces manufacturing costs by up to 80%.

Novotechnik's TLI In-Cylinder sensor launched in the UK benefits from patented non-contacting technology, offering hydraulic and pneumatic cylinder makers reliable position measurement. It uses 'Indres' non-contract technology that has no sliding contact, and can be used inside the pressure chamber of hydraulic or pneumatic cylinders.
