Article Abstract:
A simple formula for the computation of the standard deviation for cumulative good product output of a particular product type at a particular time is analyzed. Semiconductor wafer manufacturing, a process that goes through many process steps conducted by highly unreliable equipment, motivated the study. Results reveal that the method is the only appropriate sandbagging approach for manufacturing systems with flow times and yield rates uncertainties.

Article Abstract:
Two types of models with differing types of fuzzy due dates for one-of-a-kind product manufacturing systems were constructed to control production using just-in-time philosophy (JIT). The approach extends production planning problems from the shop scheduling level to the aggregated planning level of manufacturing systems. Results demonstrate that the method is effective in improving the service quality of manufacturing enterprises by JIT delivery.

Article Abstract:
A process planning method is developed which helps managers reduce processing costs and allows the reworking of parts. Reworking allows the optimization of the process capabilities of various machines, thereby reducing cost. The method involves two phases, namely, the determination of process sequences and switching points, followed by the setting of the optimal tolerance level for each process.
