Article Abstract:
Computerized toxicology testing is emerging as a preferred alternative to conventional toxicology testing procedures. Conventional testing is expensive, time consuming and requires the use of large numbers of animals, a practice that has been under severe criticisms from animal rights activists. In contrast, software tools for toxicology testing offer a faster, inexpensive and more humane alternative to meeting the increasingly stringent requirement for toxicological assessments of new chemicals.

Article Abstract:
Carbon dioxide in the supercritical fluid state is an important solvent which lessen some of the international economic and environmental problems caused by the more than 30 billion pounds of halogenated and other organic solvents. The supercritical fluid state is the state of matter in which liquid and gas phases converge into a single compressed liquid. The applications of CO2-based solvents and processing aids in polymer processing to garment cleaning are already being studied.

Asset optimization is the goal behind the move to link realtime process data and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems. The move, which aims to transform those data into smarter business decisions, has benefited from the advances made in the fields of ERP, supply chain management, advanced process control, plant information and process simulation systems from 1995 to 2000. The trend is being supported by an ongoing industry consolidation on the vendor side.
