ACSI report says customer satisfaction still falls short

Article Abstract:

Results of the first quarter report from the 1998 American Customer Satisfaction Index showed dissatisfaction in a number of service industries. The national index was up by to 71.9 points despite declines in the airline, parcel/overnight shipping and telecommunications industries. Findings also indicated that American moviegoers were satisfied with the motion picture industry. Moreover, the index for hospitals rose by five points over 1997 figures.

According to American Customer Satisfaction Index (ACSI) customer satisfaction rose a significant 1.2% in the last quarter and now stands at 7308 on a 100-point scale. Improvement in the travel sector, including airlines and hotels, contributed greatly to this increase.

Customer satisfaction scores hold steady

Article Abstract:

Consumer satisfaction, as measured by the American Customer Satisfaction Index (ACSI), for different industry is presented. The results of household appliances have shown a decline while it has improved for personal computers, consumer electronics and e-business.
