The different reasons for the sufferings of UK manufacturing and engineering firms along with its continual strive for better and innovative products for growth in the market is highlighted. Some of the reasons for the failure are lack of investment from government, outsourcing and global competition from the Far East and Eastern Europe, lack of funding from UK financial institution and venture capitalists preventing innovative products reaching market.

Brise has developed a manufacturing technique and special cutting tool that simultaneously twists and shears the axial running continuous fins on the external surface of the tube.
