Article Abstract:
Breakthrough in the field of building an indium gallium-nitride blue-violet laser diode by Sharp Corp., Japan is described. The blue-violet laser diode known as the blue-ray is used in DVD players, exploits short wavelength of blue light to record upto 27 gigabits or 13 hours of standard video on a single DVD.

Single crystal organic transistor is considered as a low quality device as it is made up of amorphous or polycrystalline organic materials. However they help the researchers to study the underlying properties. The advantages of silicon transistors over single crystal organic transistor are studied.
