200 AD: a computer odyssey

Article Abstract:

The year 2000 is set to cause serious problems to computer systems which are not programmed to cope with the date change. A survey has shown that only 28% of senior managers realise the extent of the problem. Bookings, orders, invoices and payments may not be sent out and equipment may break down. Experts suggest that the repercussions of the millenium date change will affect all companies either directly or indirectly and a number of business will collapse as a result. Year 2000 upgrades may be available at a price and customers need to ensure that new products are compliant.
