NEC Corp has expanded its VersaPro series of notebook computers by introducing six additional models. The new models include two thin, lightweight mobile computers with touch panels, two other mobile notebook computers, one fine-specification model and one compact, all-in-one model. Specific products include the $2,574 VA40H/SV Model TVN69 with a touch panel, the VA75J/AF Model ZAB69 with fine specifications and the VA60H/WX Model ZAB69 compact all-in-one model.

Matsushita Electric Industrial Company Ltd has introduced the CF-M34J8S and CF-M34J2S, which are A5 notebook computers. The computers have the same shock-proof, vibration-proof, dust-proof and drip-proof features of the company's CF-27 products while weighing about half as much asn taking up about half the volume. The products come with a hand strap for easy one-hand operation and a shoulder strap for carrying.
