Sharp's exclusive LCD TV targets Europe's PAL, SECAM regions

Sharp Corp. in July 2004 released Aquos P50E Liquid Crystal Display (LCD) TV series with a panel that can successfully replicate European Phase Alternation Line (PAL) and System Essentially Contrary to American Method (SECAM) TV and DVD video formats. With the 2006 World Cup Soccer Games event in Germany nearing, the company expects the demand for P50E TVs to grow in Europe.

With BRAVIA LCD TVs, Sony begins revamping TV business

These sets bear the label, BRAVIA, which refers to 'Best Resolution Audio Visual Integrated Architecture.'
