Matsushita Electric Industrial Company Ltd highlighted its DVCPRO50 lineup at the International Broadcasting Convention 2000 in Amsterdam, The Netherlands. It launched its AJ-HD3700-D5 mastering VTR and its DVCPRO HD series of camcorders and VTRs. The DVCPRO series supports high-definition broadcasts and standard-definition systems. Other DVCPRO products in the works include a prototype of the AJ-HDC27A DVCPRO HD camcorder which will feature dual frame rates of 30 and 60 frames per second.

Sharp Corp has developed two color image scanners, namely, the JX-375U and the JX-375UD. The products deliver resolutions with 600 dpi and read 12 bits for each RGB color. They come with copy utility software, software for image inputting, retouching, optical character recognition and name card management and consolidated software. JX-375U is priced at 22,800 yen while JX-375UD comes at a suggested retail price of 23,800 yen.

SMK Corp has developed upright push switches that can operate and confirm the selected functions. They are easy to operate and feature a thin design, with a one-circuit, two-contact lever and a one-circuit, one- contact push unit. They carry ratings for DC 5V and 19mA with a 12.5 degree operation angle, a 0.mm stroke and 2.5N operation force in the inclined and push directions. They are priced at 300 yen each.
