34th annual electric utility forecast: next few years show strong recovery

Article Abstract:

Industrial usage will increase with economic upturn, remain at about 40% of sales, but with a new customer mix. Residential sales will remain flat due to consumer energy conservation methods and energy efficient appliances. Commerical sales also remain unchanged. Peak demand will grow at 3% with capital expenditures spent on transmission and distribution instead of generation facilities.

US peak demand to increase by 2.1% this summer

Article Abstract:

The North American Electric Reliability Council's report, '1992 Summer Assessment of the Reliability of Bulk Electric Supply, reveals that the peak demand for electricty will increase by 2.1% over 1991 levels. Transmission facilities that will be serviced in the summer of 1992 are detailed.

Turkey's increasing electricity demand requires an estimated $40-bil infrastructure investment by 2010. One solution to the problem is contracting for the services of independent power producers, who are presented with four project finance programs.
