Article Abstract:
An analysis of the results of a survey of the opinions and aspirations of 318 academics aged under 40 and working at universities in the United Kingdom. The survey revealed that while they all had issues with certain aspects of the academic life, the majority believed that the academic life was nothing to avoid and would not place any barriers in the way of their children if they wanted to pursue and academic career.

Universities are increasingly adopting mind-mapping software as a dynamic way to generate ideas. Mind maps are similar to whiteboards but ar more flexible, allowing attachments of documents, graphics, notes, sound, video and photographs.
