Article Abstract:

A discussion is presented about how to ensure that seminars have high student attendance. Seminar presenters should know the topic well, get students to verbalize, provide a working environment in which students feel safe, give students enough thinking time and a feeling that their views will be valued.

The department of comparative American studies at Warwick University is to hold an one-day conference called "America in the British Imagination" on 06 May 2005. The aim of the conference is to examine the way British views of the United States have changed over the last 400 years.
