In the den of antiquity

Article Abstract:

The British Museum has appointed former merchant banker Suzanna Taverne as Managing Director in charge of communications, administration and finance, while Director Robert Anderson will retain control of scientific, curatorial and education decisions. The museum has lost 16% from its budget, but Anderson enjoys seeking money from businesses and individuals, which now accounts for around 33% of annual income. Anderson has refused to impose entry charges for tourists, however, claiming access to public property should be free.

The voice of America?

Article Abstract:

Although considered a part of American literature Mark Twain's book 'Huckleberry Finn' has been banned from US schools for racism. One researcher argued that the apparent racism was in fact irony. A letter written by the author offering to pay for a black student to attend Yale Law School was found, which appeared to back this argument. Mark Twain also denounced racism in a letter which was published throughout the US.
