Steven Pinker is a specialist in psycholinguistics who has developed ideas proposed by Noam Chomsky. Pinker has also sees language development as important in natural selection, in contrast to Chomsky. Pinker writes in a way designed to appeal to a non-specialist audience. His theories are controversial in some academic circles, with a debat on the linguistic abilities of chimpanzees, and his views on natural selection, among the controversial issues.

The people of Pakistan are seeking a saviour to restore the corrupted country to a 'land of the pure'. Some Pakistanis see Imran Khan, cricketing hero and aspiring politician, as a potential leader with his soft revolution to overthrow the lords of corruption. A Cambridge University based Pakistani scholar Akbar Ahmed, believes that the model of leadership epitomised by Mohammed Ali Jinnah could offer hope to other Islamic nations.
