1 in 6 admits to cheating

One in six students has admitted to copying from friends and one in ten looks for essays online, according to a survey commissioned by The Times Higher. One in four students claims to know someone who has passed off someone else's work as their own and male students are more likely to copy work from colleagues than female students.

Student threat to boycott survey

Article Abstract:

Student leaders at Russell Group universi ties have threatened a boycott of the national student satisfaction survey due to concerns that students were harrassed on mobile phones for the 2005 study. One union president urged students to return top marks for all questions in the survey, irrespective of their views.

Absence of elite distorts picture

Article Abstract:

The National Student Satisfaction Survey for 2006 does not include most of the UK's top universities because participation was below the required 50 percent response rate. he survey, by Ipsos MORI, found that 80 percent of the 157,000 students responding were satisfied with their course.
