Trade unions and the dispersion of earnings in British establishments, 1980-90
Article Abstract:
The link between labor unions and the distribution of earnings between 1980 and 1990 is investigated. The results, which were based on the 1980, 1984 and 1990 Workplace Industrial Relations Surveys, reveal an increasing inequality in the earnings dispersion of union and non-union facilities during the same period. This may be attributed to the increase in earnings dispersion in non-union establishments.
