The Consumer Price Index for All Urban Consumers (CPI-U) stayed at a level of 144.4 without seasonal adjustment, remaining unchanged from Jun 1993. This represents a rise of 2.8% for the past 12 months. The CPI for Urban Wage Earners and Clerical Workers (CPI-W) rose 0.1% in Jul 1993. The CPI-W went to 142.1 without seasonal adjustment, a rise of 2.7% for the past 12 months. Smallest 12 month gains were for energy: -0.2% in CPI-U and -0.4% in CPI-W. Largest 12 month gains were 6.0% for medical costs in both indexes.

The Consumer Price Index for All Urban Consumers (CPI-U) reached 152.2 in May 1995, a monthly rise of 0.2 percent before seasonal adjustment. The CPI-U for the year ending in May rose 3.2%. For Urban Wage Earners and Clerical Workers, the CPI also increase 0.2 percent, reaching 149.6. This represents a 3.2% increase for the year ending in May. Entertainment and energy prices showed the largest increase for the month, while apparel and upkeep was the only category that showed a reduction over the previous month.

The Consumer Price Index for All Urban Consumers (CPI-U) went up 0.3 % in Aug 1995, while the Consumer Price Index for Urban Wage Earners and Clerical Workers (CPI-W) went up 0.2%. The CPI-U went up to 152.9 without seasonal adjustment for an increase of 2.6%, while the CPI-W went up to 150.2 without seasonal adjustment, for an increase of 2.5% over the past year. The smallest 12 month gain was in utilities and other services, while the largest monthly gain was in medical costs.
