Article Abstract:

The Consumer Price Index for All Urban Consumers (CPI-U) went to 141.9 in Dec 1992, a decrease of 0.1% without seasonal adjustment and an increase of 2.9% for the last 12 months. The Consumer Price Index for Urban Wage Earners and Clerical Workers (CPI-W) was unchanged for the month, remaining at 139.8. This represents a 2.9% increase over the last 12 months without seasonal adjustment. Price increases recorded on the CPI-U for all categories except food and energy slowed markedly over 1992. These categories increased 3.3% in 1992 after a 4.4% increase over 1991.

The Consumer Price Index (CPI) for All Urban Consumers (CPI-U) went to 142.6 without seasonal adjustment in Jan 1993, an increase of 0.5% for the month and 3.3% for the last twelve months. The CPI for Urban Wage Earners and Clerical Workers (CPI-W) went to 140.3 representing an increase of 0.4% for the month and a 3.2% increase since Jan 1992 prior to seasonal adjustment. There were increases in each of the seven major expenditure categories both for the month and over the levels of a year ago.

Article Abstract:

The Consumer Price Index for All Urban Consumers (CPI-U) rose 0.5% in Mar 1992. The CPI-U went to 139.3 without seasonal adjustment, an increase of 3.2% for the last 12 months. The Consumer Price Index for Urban Wage Earners and Clerical Workers (CPI-W) rose 0.4% in March to 137.0 without seasonal adjustment, an increase of 3.0% since Mar 1991. Most of the increase is attributable to an increase in the prices of fresh fruits and vegetables.
