Article Abstract:
Boeing Co. Inc. received contracts for 151 aircraft in 1983 compared with eighteen orders for Europe's Airbus Industries. Airbus is developing an A320 aircraft, which is being supported by several European governments including Britain, France, West Germany and Spain. The market for the A320 may be diminishing as competitive aircraft is already available. Boeing fears a collaboration of Airbus with McDonnell Douglas.
